Anodizing
Anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the surface of a piece of aluminum into oxide of the same metal. Anodizing is carried out by immersing the aluminum in an acid electrolyte bath. At the same time as the piece is in the acid bath, an electric current passes through the piece and the solution.
Passivation
Passivation treatment is done for stainless steel alloys. It is the strong presence of chromium in these alloys that gives stainless steel its anti-corrosion properties. Passivation treatment involves immersing a piece of stainless steel in chemical ponds to clean and eliminate any source of contamination on the surface of the chemical.
Black Oxide
